Big Block Games continue the tradition of quality browser games begun by Rock Solid Arcade of which Big Block co-founder Michael Reitzenstein was a central figure.

Their flagship title - an "epic space opera" called Black Market - is in late Beta phase at the moment. You can play the game at the Big Block website and purchase the Full Game for a mere $6.99 USD. This price is only valid until the Beta ends and is a bargain judging by the scope and content available! For that price you get lifetime access to all upgrades and premium content, including new campaigns, ships and items.

In the short time I played the game I found it to be absolutely chock full of text content - from the dialogue to the background info. I personally love it when the creators of a game have put a lot of time and effort into fleshing their world out and provided access to that information ingame. However, that's not to say that there's no graphical content - the graphics are up to a high standard and help to set the tone nicely even though the gameplay is not overly graphic intensive. Most of the gameplay involves trading - completing missions requiring pickups and dropoffs, and the odd space fight here and there. The fight sections are not arcade-y but they're not that complex either - something I appreciate.

You can play Black Market on the Big Block Games website here.
