Leave Home is a shmup for Xbox Live Indie and PC. Developed by Hermitgames, Leave Home has made it onto xnPLAY's Essential Shooters page and received plenty of other great press - and for good reason.
Retro Spectrum artifacts (loading screens and the such-like) give the game some character and the geometric graphics (which contribute to its small size) and blippy fx are a pleasure to wallow in for a few quick minutes of shooty bliss.
The XBLIG version is only 240MSP and the PC version (which was ported to C++ DirectX8 rather than a straight release of the XNA version - for interesting reasons that developer Matt James explains here) is only $5 USD.
Check out the game at the Hermitgames homepage or via the Xbox Live Indie Games service online!

We're very keen to post reviews and news from local NZ indies (after all, this is an NZ indie community site :P - there, I said it before anyone else did ;) so please contact us if you'd like your game reviewed and featured!
There are a few of us working in XNA now so I thought this game made a good talking point - especially as the PC port info was very interesting (i.e. the fact that the size of the XNA version with included necessary extras was prohibitive).
I highly recommend Hermitgames first game Fren-ze it has an interesting shield/reflection/scoring mechanic that I haven't seen in another shooter. (And it's like $5 or something) I'm picky about shoot 'em ups but this one I'd definately recommend to anyone with at least a passing interest in the genre.
Leave Home is on my radar - But I'm waiting to get a 360 (I know there's a PC version, but I'd rather play it on the XBox)
