Hi everyone!
My name's Tristan Clark; I'm one half of Launching Pad Games. I see a lot of Auckland-based developers here, but I think a few Wellington folk are also hanging around. We're really keen to get everyone in the area together for a drink etc - it's no fun being totally isolated!
If anyone is in/around Wellington - or knows some developers who are - post below and we'll organise a meetup!
Well I'm not strictly a game developer - more a wannabe, but keen to see game devs and others in the skin.
If Liam's still kicking around he'll probably be keen to meet up too.
I've got a friend who worked for Lionhead a while ago, I'll see if he wants to come too.
Hey, ya I'm definitely keen! I like Drinking and Games are cool too :P
Sweet as guys! Hey Liam, did you email us a while back? Sorry we didn't reply, we can be quite useless sometimes.
lol, yes, yes I did. So when is this gonna happen?
Soon! I'll send out an email tomorrow.
To anyone in the Wellington area (or happy to travel there): we're gonna meet up on Thursday 13th May @ The Bristol. Come along! :)
Got a couple friends in Wellington who might be interested.
I'll let them know if its alright?
Go for it dude! The more the merrier.
Hey there. I haven't actually been on this forum for about 6 months. But i'm curious how the meet up went and if anyone would be keen to have another one? I'm a concept artist at Sidhe, but rather keen to get to know some indie dev folk. I played the pretender part one some time ago only realizing it was made by new zealanders after the fact, but i definitely remember enjoying it quite a bit. Nice stuff.
Hey so I've moved to Wellington, Mirimar, and was wondering if people were interested in a meetup?
If anyone wants a demo of using Unity let me know.
Maybe get a game jam going or something?
Cheers
Aaron
Yeah a meet-up sounds good, I'll tag along for sure - I missed the last one!
Post if you're keen and we'll get something going
I'm just not sure where to be honest, I was thinking it could be cool have like a demonstration of either a tool or a game or even a realised concept, so a pub wouldn't be the best place for that. We could go drinking in the town belt but then theres crazy hobo's living in broken tents AND theres no power. What would be ideal is a central flat or studio. My house isnt so good as its tiny and I live in a sleepout. So open to ideas for venues at this point?
I heard theres sort of a creative space in town called "Unlimited", I might look into that.
Cheers
Aaron
